Mike "Hurricane" Hoover was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and raised on a cross-country rhythm-living in New York, Chicago, and San Francisco before his family settled in the Los Angeles area. In high school, he found his voice on the harmonica after seeing John Mayall live--a moment that lit the fuse.
Since then, Hurricane has carried his unmistakable sound across the United States and onto stages throughout Europe and Asia, earning a reputation for raw energy, soulful tone, and authentic blues spirit.
Now based in Baja California, Mexico, Hoover is also the driving force behind the Loreto International Blues Festival, bringing world-class blues to the shores of the Sea of Cortez.
